Lihue, Hawaii, February 8, 2011: The Hawaii State Junior Golf Association (HSJGA) is pleased to announce the opening of its 2011 HSJGA season.  2011 marks the HSJGA’s 13th year of operation.
 
Registration for 2011 Membership with the HSJGA is available on the HSJGA website (www.HSJGA.org).
HSJGA membership is open to male and female junior golfers who meet the following qualifications: 

• ·         Are between the ages of 7 to 18.
• ·         Have not reached their 19th birthday and have not entered college.
• ·         Demonstrate a basic understanding of the game.

Annual membership is from January 1 – December 31 for a fee of only $35.  This fee includes an opportunity to compete in several statewide tournaments, a 2011 Membership Handbook, One-Year USGA Junior Membership, college workshops, instructional clinics, rules workshops, 2010-2011 Rules of Golf book, bag tag (one bag tag issued per initial membership), GHIN handicap (donated by the HSGA and USGA) and participation in the activities and programs of the HSJGA. 

The Junior Tour Series (for HSJGA juniors 14 years of age and under) events are opening for entry.  Entries are accepted in the order that they are received so be sure to sign up to reserve your spot today!  The upcoming Junior Tour Series (14 and Under) events are scheduled as follows:
 

• Junior Tour Series (14 and Under) – Kauai at Wailua Golf Course (Lihue, HI), March 19-20, entries accepted between January 22 through March 5 at 5:00 PM HST.
• Junior Tour Series (14 and Under) – Big Island at Waimea Country Club (Waimea, HI), March 26-27, entries accepted between January 29 through March 12 at 5:00 PM HST.
• Junior Tour Series (14 and Under) – Oahu at Mililani Golf Club (Mililani, HI), April 16-17, entries accepted between February 12 through March 26 at 5:00 PM HST.
• Junior Tour Series (14 and Under) – Maui at Pukalani Country Club (Pukalani, HI), April 23-24, entries accepted between February 19 through April 2 at 5:00 PM HST.
