Honolulu, Hawaii January 13th: Another wet morning across the state prompted officials to delay today’s tee off with at minimum an hour. Honolulu is under a flash flood warning which has been have been extended to 8.30am. According to weather reports we can expect a wet afternoon and there are chances of thunderstorms.
Wheather Sony open will be cancelled today remains to be seen. The golf course is soaked with water after 4 inches of rainfall this week not counting last night’s heavy rainfall. Right now the rain has stopped and we’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope that the 10% chance of no rain and a little bit of sunshine will be what we’ll see today.
What is causing this mess is a strong cold front moving down the Hawaiian Island chain. We should be expecting dryer conditions for Friday and Saturday but late Sunday and Monday another cold front is expected to reach the islands.
For everyone that loves snow….A winter storm warning is in effect for the Big Island summits and heavy snow fall has been reported.
