Norton, Mass September 4, 2010: Jason Day's score yesterday was an outstanding 63 at the same time as Tiger Woods did shoot 1 over par making the difference in score to be 9 shots! The spectacular score yesterday in dead calm conditions was more of Tiger's failulre to score than Day's ability to score. That Tiger would be able to turn this around was not that supprising, but he did it in windy condition shooting today's low score of -6 while Day and others were struggling around par for the day.
Tiger really turned around his game in time as he was facing missed cut and elimination out of the Feedex cup. TIger shoot a bogey free round (happend last time over a year ago). Moreover Tiger didnt' hit a bad shoot for the first 6-7 holes also that an inidcation how the rest o fthe weekend will be like?
Other notibles is that the number 1 and 2 in the feedex cup as well as Mickelson all played solid on Saturday, creating an interresting match up for the Sunday and anticiapated anticlimax on Monday.
Defending champion Steve Stricker made it through another round without a bogey and was at 9-under 133, while Phil Mickelson started hitting fairways and making putts and was in the group at 8-under 134 that included Ryder Cup hopeful Stewart Cink, Hunter Mahan, Zach Johnson and Andres Romero, who only got into the 100-man field by making a 40-foot birdie putt on the final hole last week.
The top 70 in the FedExCup standings advance to the third round next week outside Chicago. Fifteen players were eliminated by missing the cut, including Chad Campbell under bizarre circumstances. He was disqualified Saturday morning when officials realized he had never registered for the tournament, a simple formality.
Stay tuned for the Current leader board and the Currrent standings in Feedex Cup playoffs.
