Pearl Country Club, Honolulu. As expected it was the well known names at the top after Sunday’s final round of the Peal Open 2010 played on Pearl Country Club, Honolulu, Hawaii. After Saturday’s round Akinori Tani was in a hurry after finishing the 18th hole – not to turn in the score card, but to get married! Tani was “scheduled” to get married on valentine’s day, but after a great round on Saturday it looked like he could be in contention to win the open, in which case he would miss his own wedding....he didn’t know how correct he was…

All through most of Sunday’s final round, Nick Mason held the lead, but after an eagle on the 17th hole Akonori Tani passed Mason to clinch the Peal Open 2010 title. Tani shot a closing round 67, for 12-undder par, for a total of 204. Nick Mason ended up in the runner-up position one stroke behind. Arizona player Jess Mueller who was the defending champion and this year’s Hawaii State Open Championship winner made a run for it after -8 on first 9! But ended the last 9 one over to finish in 7th spot 5 stroked behind Tani. Ryutaro Kato won the junior amateur category at -4.
