You have chosen to select "Add to Event" from a user's profile page or from the Golfers page. You will need to be the admin of an event in order to do this. If you are not the owner of an event click here to create one and then invite your friends again. If you do have events that you manage select which ones that you want to invite the user to and click the link "invtite to event(s)". The user that did receive the invite will receive an email with a link to the event details. The user will be able to accept or decline the invitation from the main page by clicking the RSVP link - the invitor will be automatically emailed when this happens - Have fun!
