Aloha,
we all know about it and it is a subject that maybe received some over exposure, but what will happen with the LPGA tour now when Annika is gone? Well, this is hard to judge on, it is almost like asking what will happen to the PGA Tour if/when Tiger leaves? Annika has been one of the main factors to why the LPGA tour has excelled for the last 10 years and become a house hold topic (well for golf loving families anyway - and all the Swedes :) ). SInce then, there are many new players that has joined the tour that today might be even more important to the tour, such as Michelle Wie, Ochoa, Morgan Pressle etc. THis younger crowd brings new energy to the tour and will (hopefully) remain on the tour to see it grow for the next 10-20 years.
A thought is to possibly combine the different women tours in teh world for a yearly playoff, thus the e.g. 16 best players from each tour goes into a playoff a'la FedexCup, that would be interresting and would be unique thus bringing some more medi to the well deserving women tours out there.
As always feel free to comment or contact me if you have questions/thoughts etc.
