Aloha all,
The week after the Masters, do we really care? Well I do because I'm playing the fantasy game and because Bo Weekly is the previous winner. I'm still amazed how Cabrera managed to win last weekend - just amazing, very similar to when he clinched the US open a couple of years back. Anyway, here is a recap of last week’s fantasy pick results:
Tiger Woods 6th (T)
Steve Stricker 6th (T)
Rory McIIroy 20th (T)
ok, but not good results...
So here are the info and picks for this week:
Tournament Name: Verizon Heritage
Defending Champ: Bo Weekly
When: April 16-19
Course: Harbor Town Golf Links
So without further delay here are my picks for the week and as always we do use Yahoo's fantasy game, thus the picks are divided into 3 groups where we need to pick 2 players from Group A, 4 players from group B, and 2 players from group C. At any given day you can pick 1 player from A, 2 from B, and 1 from C to "play for you".
Group A:
I will not pick a dark horse in Group A; instead I will go with "safe" cards Ernie Els and Steve Flesch. Steve had a great week at the Masters and Ernie is about to start a 5 week stretch of great golf clinching the US Open...or so I predict :).
Starter: Steve Flesch
Group B:
This group was (as always) somewhat tricky, but I'll try to use the inside info I did get during last weekend - here we go: Boo Weekly, how can I not pick him :); Rory McIIroy - he had a great week at the masters (tied 20th) and this youngster is about to break out and grab a PGA title, if not today then later this year; Chris DiMarco - it is about time for Chris, gearing up for the US Open he will need to get moving he hasn't even a top 10 finish this year but the reports sounds promising, switching his driver might be the ignition he looked for; Fredrik Jacobson - historically Fredrik likes this course so I'll stick with him as the dark horse pick of the week.
Starters: Boo Weekly and Rory McIIroy
Group C:
This was somewhat easier, I always liked Luke Donald and he has (according to the reports) changed his putting grip to lower the average number of putts the last 2 tournaments with .2 - about time...my second pick is (again) Dean Wilson - Biased? Me? lol
Starter: Luke Donald
Let me know your thoughts and if you use Yahoo fantasy game as well let me know your picks.
Aloha
